Soooooo Underwhelming~!!!!I watched this as the 2nd installment of CITT and it destroyed my palate and expectation of this whole series.
I'm the type of person who loves to seek through people's review before watching any dramas cause I don't want to waste time but still gave this one a chance since it's part the series and I believe that thriller-action dramas can never go wrong; but TWG prove me wrong. This drama made me so furious and disappointed countless of times and almost let me drop it halfway.
Story is too JUMPY for no reason and is somewhat confusing. Female leads are useless but was able to survive nonetheless even the 2nd male lead is a liability. Terrible.
Story - 6.5, I'm honestly still being too kind for giving this a 6.5. IF i happen to drop it halfway It would've been 5. The action and fighting scenes somehow save it for me. Even when they're mostly average as well.
Actors - 8, The actors did deliver. It's just that their characters lack purposes and is heavily shouldered by the Main Lead.
Music - 6.5, I'm too infuriated to even notice and appreciate. Music could've easily pass the mark but this drama failed to do so.
Rewatch - 5, I wanted to give it a lower rating cause i definitely won't watch it again but i'm keeping it at 5 since I was able to get through the story while bearing so much. But I WILL NEVER EVERR~!!
Overall - 6.5, I supposedly wanna give it a 7 but I felt like it's way too high so I reduced a .5 points. It's horrendous but is bearable.
Please let me know IF you find my review helpful.
Under ratedLoved it. If you like supernatural stories like Goblin you will like this. I liked this drama as much as i liked Goblin. Story is predictable and takes you through twist and turns with meaningful conversation and dialogues. Script was good and actors delivered it bang on. I also liked the side characters and SML and SFL story and their banter.
This is the drama where i liked Seo in Guk and his acting. He knows what he is doing. Park Bo young i liked her in Strong woman Do Bong Soon and she caries the same sassiness here. I enjoyed watching her acting and her strong FL role.
The Origami Swan and the PsychoThe second 7 episode installment of the "My Hero" series — "Spell of the Swan Mark" is based on the novel by the author Satarat. Below is the list of good and bad points regarding this drama that I made a note of:
⌜The Good Points⌟
- Suspense is decent.
You really don't have it figured out until it comes out.
-It's short and bingeable.
It was somewhat easy for me to complete this. I'll admit I skipped some of the scenes, but overall I was able to complete this and that says a lot lmao.
- It's much better than the previous installment I watched.
That one was the one with Boy, and I thought it was really just full of patriotic advertisment and so on.
- FL's personality is cute.
I really enjoyed her innate personality. Her ability to make jokes and not be ashamed, it's cute.
⌜The Bad Points⌟
- Romance is morally questionable
The ML has a GF who he loves. The ML experiences a very low in his life when his family is killed at the opening of his dance school. The FL comes and is an unmoving support system for him. His GF on the other hand is always crying and grabbing attention to herself. He's attracted to the FL because of how unwaveringly supportive and caring she is to him. He feels guilty about his feelings and decides to be with his GF because in his eyes his GF didn't do anything wrong to deserve this. Even until the last minute, he sees that his GF only has him and is with her. The FL knows he's taken, the FL also knows the GF is psycho and desperately in need of him but she still entertains her feelings and gives him provision to dance around her.
- ML's GF is a psycho psycho
I really hate these sorts of people in real life. Totally crazy and manipulative.
Normally I would not understand why people like making the GF crazy just to justify the love between the ML and the FL, when in fact it's infidelity. But somehow it's suddenly acceptable because it's between the ML and the FL. But this time... I put it all up to the girl being mentally ill, and the sort that just super evil now.
- The dance moves were super embarrassing.
Although Great seems like a good dancer (as much as his height and body structure can allow), but the choreography was totally below average and it showed.
Overall, I probably won't watch this again. But I hardly every rewatch anything.
It was alright though, as entertaining as it could get.
Amazing acting, big production, unlike any K-dramaWhat an amazing end to Season 1. The long journey of waiting for Season 2 has begun. It took me a while to finish Part 3 as it's not a binge-watching kinda show. Each episode feels like its own movie.
I am in awe of everyone's acting. From the youngest children to the most senior and veteran actors, each one of them portrays their characters so well. You believe in each of their emotions and you laugh and cry with them. The four main leads are without a doubt worthy of their praises. And I agree with many that it's Song Joong Ki's best role playing both Eunseom and Saya. They are such different characters yet SJL did such an amazing job, all that the small facial expressions and mannerisms. However, I am most impressed with Kim Ok Bin, who played Taealha. This is my first time watching her. I am in love with her character. She has such a presence on the screen that I can't take my eyes off her whenever she's there. The chemistry between Tagon and Taealha is off-the-charts. Each character is so layered and gray. You understand why they make certain decisions because of their background story, and you can't help but feel for them, even though you don't agree with their decisions.
We see equal parts of Saya and Eunseom in Part 3. I am glad because I miss Eunseom in Part 2. We saw the rise of Tagon as King, Tanya as High Priestess and Eunseom as Tribal leader. There's plenty of fighting and bloodshed in Part 2 and they are all essential to the major plot. The pacing of Part 3 is faster than Part 1, but they are still somewhat slow compared to other dramas. There are so many smaller plots that have to come together for the main storyline. If one doesn't pay attention, you might miss out on something.
I wasn't aware that there are Seasons 2 and 3. If I had known, I might not have started watching this show. I waited until all 3 parts are out before I watch Season 1. Now the long wait begins. I am not sure when the cast would be able to line up their schedules and start shooting Season 2 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With so many people involved in this big production, it might be a long while before the audience can see Eunseom and Tanya reunite. I am looking forward to that. As much as I love Saya, I ship Euseom and Tanya more :)
Addicting but boring ?I skip through many part in this dramas. The story is super cliché but I think that this show did them well. The plot was all over the place but the acting was good.
I honestly watch it for the eye candy. The plot are so cringy and the fight scenes make me laugh out loud with how ridiculous it look. It was fun watch but nothing amazing.
The drama start out great with the main couple being forced to live together but it start to drag after Ling Yue went back to his company. The plot where step-brother falls in love with his sister is so weird and I could have definitely do without that plot.
The kiss scenes were great tho and the chemistry between the main couple is so cute.
Overall, it was good enough for me to finish it but not enough for me to rewatch.
This drama is what Game of Thrones wanted to be.I don't think a review can ever do this show justice, just keep one thing in mind this is a slow burner and stick with it at the start because damn does this show tie in everything at the end. It has one of the most satisfying endings ever... Seriously do yourself a favour and watch it because it will win you over. The acting, the casting, the OST almost everything is out of this world!!!
If you enjoyed game of thrones and were particularly rooting for House Stark like myself then my friends please watch this because the lead family of this drama will remind you of Starks, I wish i could say more but I am not going to give any spoilers! So yeah without hesitation, I'll recommend this 10/10.
Good dramaI came to watch after watching Doom at your service. I had watched shopping king. Louis half and was bored so dropped it and thot Seo in Guk is so so. But in Hello Monster i saw he is amazing.
The story is pretty good and there are times i felt sad for the brothers, where people try to make decisions for others. I liked their bromance. FL was not so bad as i have read in many reviews, she came across little selfish and little dumb but she did her part well. All in all it is a good watch. It's right amount of mystery, romance, bromance, thrill till the last episode.
What it means to be a familyWhen I first read the summary of "Flowers to my life" I wasn't expecting it to be a family oriented drama, I usually do my best to avoid those, but this one just felt so right.
From the main to the support characters, everyone here has a story. These stories are imperfect, but so is life. Instead of saying that these are good or bad people, I like to think that they are simply people with a story that found each other and created a beautiful family within a community.
Truth be told I didn't focus much on trying to find faults on the acting nor on any other technical details. Why? Because the story was that good, it made me feel complete, as if I too belonged with these fictional people.
I'm happy, even if this was a drama whose main theme is death it made me rethink life and its value for me. What is it that I truly want? Do I even want something?
I hope the ones who watch this drama feel the same urge as I do to find their dreams.
OverratedI could watch this only becoz of Xu kai. I had to take few breaks before i could finish this. Portrayal and popularity of e-sport was again the subject. There was nothing new about this drama, its the same old same old but has many sweet moments. I would have liked this drama little more if the FL had an ability to show different expressions. Her face was totally a poker face or deadpan. There was a scene in drama where ML and FL are on the either side of the door and FL is trying to talk some sense into the ML and ML comments i can totally see your expression from this side of the door and i thought there are no expressions so yes it wouldn't be hard to imagine.
They could have done a better job with FL she came across as a strong character in the beginning with independent girl but then she was doubting herself, her BF, creating trouble everywhere and wash more of a not cute looking FL. I would say if not for Xu Kai this would have been a full flop at least from where i see.
(My first ever review)This is one of the best C-Dramas I have ever seen, If not the best.
First and foremost, this is just my opinion.
If you are expecting a romance story, then you will be disappointed, this is very plot-driven with romance almost as an accessory but never central to the story. The are both slow-burn romances and work so well within the plot.
The story telling:
It was very well written; it was interesting that it kept me curious and wanting to watch the next episode to find out what was happening. The cases even though they looked random were all intricate to the plot, explained well and logically. They tried to use modern forensic but how they made it to fit was plausible. It just wasn’t obvious from the get-go, complex but in a way that you are able to follow. The cases are linked so well within the plot that it doesn’t feel like sub-plot that take away from the story being portrayed. Even as the story went, the writing never became lazy. My only critics would be introducing some of the villains early on, as well as the last or maybe last 2 episodes, had a lot going on that could have been expanded maybe in a few more episodes to follow the rest of the pace for the drama.
I have only watched a few handfuls of C-Dramas, my list is growing, but out of all the dramas I have seen. There are my favourite characters to date.
The ML and Female lead I have found out are not well-known actors but could have fooled me. There acting was amazing both individually and when they were working together. The ML was believable as genius Prince/Judge that was very much led by justice, but it was important to be fair. FL was equality as amazing, although appearing naïve and innocent, did not take away from her character or make her a damsel in distress that needed saving in almost every scene. She was intelligent, kind-hearted but never to a point where she was stupid. Their communication was just the highlight, never hid anything from each other, discussed their issues almost immediately and it was very refreshing. Also, their re-enactment of the cases was just the highlight of the whole thing.
The second ML and FL were equally well-portrayed. The also had their talents and were respected equally in their own places. There was no jealousy or trying to compete. They were all just a team with the leads.
The female leads were just amazing portrayed, they held their own and were equally brave, as their counter parts. I absolutely loved their friendship and respect towards each other.
The other side characters and main villains worked so well within the drama. I’ve said this before on the feed, but the writers really understood the assignment. There so many characters I miss judged because they were somewhat ambiguous and just kept you guessing.
The visuals weren’t amazing by any means but worked so well with the drama. I loved the animation that was included within and can’t complain. I liked the OST, felt that it fit well.
Another honourable mention must be the title page which changed I believe 4 times. It was quite cool and each so gave a clue to where they were in the story but never giving away any plot line. Again, refreshing and amazing.
Anyways, I would have guessed this to be a big budget drama, but it wasn’t which just shocked me. It is well-written with a few exceptions in the end. The characters were solid and just found it wholesome.
I just really love this drama and would 100% recommend it.
The synopsis is misleading! This isn't a rich people struggle drama. In fact, the male lead is an orphan homeless man who works multiple jobs to support his younger brother and repay his dead parents loan shark debt. While he was studying abroad, his parents were scammed by a large company that introduced a new financial scheme. They ended up borrowing money from loan shark and committed suicide when they can't pay them back. ML came back to china to take care of his brother, while on the run from the loan shark. He then joins the company that now focus on big data tech but its also the same company that scammed his parents back then, and started plotting his revenge.
FL came from a privileged background but not really a super rich person like the synopsis made it to be. Her dad is a professor and her mother is a piano teacher. She studied in America, came back to china the same time as ML and sorta fell in love from the first sight when they're at the airport.
The second male lead is your typical ceo's son. His story is full of cliches. He likes the FL but knows he has no chance to be with her. So there's no evil third party in this relationship.
Now onto the review.. Like any other 40 episodes drama, there were so much going on. So many side characters and side stories, on top of being a majorly work/business focused drama. I skipped through parts I'm not interested in, and by episode 25+ I don't even know what's going on whenever they're in work mode. At ep 30+ I thought the story is getting better but the writers then ruined it again few episodes before the finale (I'm already tired of this drama by then and only played it for background noise).
Out of the business/work setting, what made the drama watchable for me is their little friends crew, the ML story development, and the FL fun character.
I will give the story a solid 8.5 if its only based on the ML background story, his revenge plan, and the final twist revelation. Those are truly high quality writing that's sadly ruined by a lot of filler scenes.
In the romance department: the main couple liked each other since early on, the girl's parents acknowledged them as a couple, their friends all called them a couple but they aren't actually together. The ML has some issues to resolve so he can't commit to a relationship. They only somewhat got together on the last scene of the final episode, and it's just the ML giving her a rose. No kisses or I love yous being said.
tldr: it's worth watching if you're interested in tech data business drama, or if you're a fan of the actors (I'm watching for lulu xu, she's the main reason I didn't drop this). Don't watch if you're expecting some romance.
I loved how situations were handled in this drama and misunderstandings were cleared up quickly. I never wanted to hit my head because of some ridiculous overreaction or sacrificial move by one of the leads! The plot moved along and never felt draggy... I was sad when I knew the end was near.
Overall, this drama left me reminiscing about my youth and believing that somewhere there is a little town near the sea where a group of friends grew up together and stayed forever bonded. (I may just go buy a Mint plant after this! lol).
The comedy in between is something which shouldn't be ignored at all! I just couldn't stop laughing during some scenes.
Nevertheless, this drama still remains a must-watch to me as the plot, the acting, the cast, and obviously, the songs are all fabulous. I congratulate the team for such a success. They definitely won the viewers' hearts!!
Title doesn't fit the show, please change it to "Dump Ben forever xoxo"After watching the first season and then this one, I can't help but to write a review.
1. Ben is clearly the worst part of this series. He is confused all the time and seemed to have been involved with most of the men in the show and almost seemed to want to sleep with more men. For whatever reason his character was written pretty bad and he became a totally different person that you would definitely hate and yet everyone in the show loves him.
2. Unnecessary side characters - Francia + Bogs are not needed in the show at all
3. Ending is open-ended. I am really wishing that they stop at this season. If they make another one, just kill Ben completely.
1. The actor that played Jim was extremely good portraying emotions, he's definitely the reason how I was able to completely watch the show
2. The lines in the show will pull your heart strings except for the ones coming from Ben
3. The side characters specifically Flo + Dante and Yana + Olan. Their chemistry is awesome and I want to see more of them. Val is also pretty good with awesome lines. Roy is also great depicting an actual person. The orgy couple are also pretty funny without even trying.
4. Cinematography is great in a lot of the shots.
Cute...worth watchingThis drama probably one of the few dramas where the padt and present both have shown of the couple past and cyrrent relationship in each episode....i like this manner/order.
Usually in a drama...if the couple broke up after school or uni and then they meet after fews year...what happens in this type is that...maximum how they meet to broke up is shown...as if the one the ML/FL reciting how they met which takes up alomst all episodes.
And at then like last 5 episodes their present is shown the afermath and all...dont get me wrong ....not all drama follow this plot but most do...??
I lile how from the beginning to end both past and present sides of the couple was shown...the story is cute...light headed but at the same time....i feel reay for FL for having two teachers as her parents....like i cannot imagine going back home from school and enter another school where your parents are teacgera and give you homework and homework and homework.
I liked the chemistry between the couple...especially the ML as he is the typical drama ML only having eyes for the FL or nothing else....like the way he look at her and does everything for her.
The story is typical about a nerd girl and bad boy or opposite of nerd guy....their friendship, school, how they solve their problem together is what the story is about.
One thing i liked was like even though they knew they liled each other but they put themselves or the FL lead put themselves just being classmates or best friend was like hilarious to me as i knew everyone knew there werent just friends. But the couple didnt have kiss scene in school at all...all was there pur true love for each other...they didnt even need to go a relationship as they were already each other bf and gf without them knowing and idk why seeing that was satisying.
Sometimes we dont know how we fall in love with your friend and you are anyways comfortable and know your daily habits...so it wasnt a shock when ML proposed her at the end of last episode. As at that time it was like you are marrying her without dating...lile from being to classmate to best friend to marraige may sound doubtful but in this drama...it was satisfying. Ig i will their relationship as bf and gf started from when they became to classmate to friends to best friends.....
Even though story lack bits and pieces but its worth warching...in some ways it really gives hope and kind of eye opener for us who think toppers are born genious and they dont have problems and how they end up falling love with a person who aint good in studying and how to cope being a good or bad student....idl in some ways and some scenes was like a eye opners or something i thought and made me realise something!
Casting was done perfectly....all the cast did a fantastic job to bring out their roles and shine them....its seen in the drama amd their efforts paid well.
Music i liked it and the choreo too!!!
Its worth of your time to watch this drama and i hope you like!
