Im Soo Hyang will reportedly be the main lead for the upcoming remake of "Jane The Virgin"
According to Im Soo Hyang's agency FN Entertainment on July 6th, the actress received the offer to play the main lead in the drama "Jane The Virgin." They also stated that Im Soo Hyang is positively reviewing the offer.
Based on the popular American drama of the same name, upcoming drama "Jane The Virgin" will depict the story of Jane who's keeping her virginity until she gets married as part of her promise to her grandmother. She suddenly became pregnant because of a doctor's mistake of performing artificial insemination during a regular checkup.
The original "Jane The Virgin" aired on American broadcasting station The CW from 2014 to 2019 led by actress Gina Rodriguez. The series was popular and even loved by critics for its fresh concept.
Im Soo Hyang got the offer to play the main lead named Lee Soo Jung who vowed to remain a virgin until marriage.
Korean version of "Jane The Virgin" is still under discussion on the timing and broadcast channel. There are also no details yet on other cast members.
If Im Soo Hyang accepts the offer, this will be her follow-up drama project after 2020's "When I Was the Most Beautiful" with Kim Ji Soo, Ha Seok Jin, Hwang Seung Eon, Park Ji Young, Stephanie Lee, and more.
