Anime/Manga That Should be Made into Dramas

Many of us watched anime or read manga in the past before starting to watch Asian dramas. So I was thinking about anime and manga that I watched/read that deserve to be made into dramas. There are many manga/anime that were made into dramas like Gokusen, Hana Yori Dango/Boys Before Flowers, Liar Game and more .

Here is a list of anime and manga that should be made into dramas.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn!

Genres: Comedy, Action, Mafia

Synopsis: The underworld is ruled by the strongest people in the business, the Italian Vongola family. Vongola's current head, the ninth head, is an old man ready for retirement. But before he can step down, he needs help from a professional hit-man to prepare the next next head of the family for the world that awaits him.

Sawada Tsunayoshi is an ordinary teenage boy who attends Junior High, who is unpopular, has no friends and is desperately in love with a girl from his class. But Tsunayoshi's life takes an extraordinary turn when he meets Reborn, an infamous hit-man, who has been sent by the Vongola boss to prepare Tsunayoshi for his future as a mafia boss! Comment: This anime is one of my favorite series and it's very funny and cool (^-^) and I love Tsuna growing in this anime/manga. What would make the drama good, if it is turned into one, is that the action scenes are very cool. It will need an s-class director (spoilers:Tsuna can fly with his gloves). Moreover, in adapted action drama they usually fill up the story in order to make it solid, but here they won't need to do that because the story, characters' background, etc. are very detailed. All episodes are also connected to each other. I believe that if it were to be turned into a drama, it would become a masterpiece just like City Hunter.

Vampire Knight

Genres: Drama, Romance, Comedy, Fantasy

Synopsis: Cross Academy is an elite boarding school with two separate, isolated classes: the Day Class and the Night Class. On the surface, Yuuki Cross and Zero Kiryuu are prefects of the academy and attempt to keep order between the students as classes rotate in the evenings. As the Night Class is full of utterly gorgeous elites, this can sometimes prove to be a bit difficult. It is completely necessary, however, as those "elites" are actually vampires. Yuuki and Zero act as guardians, protecting the secrets of the Night Class and the safety of the ignorant Day Class.

As the adopted daughter of the academy's chairman, Yuuki takes her job with a serious and energetic attitude. It also allows her to interact with her secret crush and savior, the Night Class' dorm president, Kaname Kuran. Zero, on the other hand, has a deep-rooted hatred against vampires and at times does not hesitate to kill.

Can vampires and humans co-exist even in the strict setup of the Cross Academy? Only time will tell. (source: myanimelist)

Comment : Yuuki ,Kanami, Zero... each one of them thrills me and gives the plot a sweet taste. I love Zero above all characters, not because of his looks or coolness, but because of his character, especially his strong heart. He never wavers in his decision even after all the pain he has gone through in the past. Vampire Knight is well-known among vampire anime lovers and often their favorite one. I believe that it has to be a K-drama because it needs sparkling, elegant, beautiful, and cool actors and actresses but not only that they have to be talented as well. For a vampire anime, it is not that bloody or gory. It has the elements for a good romantic drama .

Full Moon wo Sagashite

(Searching for the Full Moon)

Genres: Romance, Comedy, Drama, Music

Synopsis: 12-year-old Mitsuki wants to be a singer because of a promise she made with her childhood love, however, a form of throat cancer is holding her back. One day she finds two strange characters in her room, Takuto and Meroko, who are gods of death (Shinigami). She finds out she has only a certain amount of time to live and wants nothing more in that time than to become a singer. The two Shinigami show sympathy for her and decide to help her reach her goal by transforming her into a 16-year-old girl.

Comment: The whole story is beautiful and gives a good and relaxing feeling to the watcher/reader. It has a melodrama feeling at first but the more it continues, the more the plot gets better. Lastly, let me give you some good advice before reading/watching it, get your tissue box ready.

I think that this should be turned into a J-drama so all of its potential can be fulfilled. I really love it, I believe that it will suit the drama world more than it does the anime world.

Saiunkoku Monogatari

Genres: Historical, Romance, Comedy, Drama

Synopsis: Saiunkoku is a world of eight provinces or houses, each named after a different colour. The new Emperor, Shi Ryuuki, has gained a reputation for being uninterested in courtly matters and for flaunting his love for men. Shuurei, although born in the important Kou family, has difficulty making ends meet. She easily accepts the invitation to be the Emperor's concubine in order to turn him into a good ruler. The mysterious Seiran, a young man who was adopted by her father, goes with her as Ryuuki's bodyguard. Entering the imperial palace revives Shuurei's dream of being a court official and together with the many companions she meets along the way, she continues moving bravely forward while trying to fend off the Emperor's advances. Comment : I used to hate historical anime because they are too long. But I changed my mind after watching this. It is a very beautiful rom-com-historical anime. My favorite character here is Kou Shuurei because she rejected the king quite a lot and did not fall for his love trap easily. Haha, this should obviously be turned into a drama because it is not completely fictional like most of the anime of this theme. Another thing is that it is suitable for all ages and it gives off the aura of a historical drama, usually my sixth sense never lies. I believe if they put good money in it, it will turn just as good as Rurouni Kenshin.

Akatsuki no Yona

Genres : Romance, Historical, Drama

Synopsis: Upon her sixteenth birthday, the cheerful Princess Yona intended to tell her doting father of her love for Soo-won but her life was turned upside down after witnessing the man she loves cruelly assassinate her father. Heartbroken by this painful betrayal, Princess Yona fled the palace with her loyal servant Hak. Now she will take up the sword and the bow on a quest to gain new allies and protect her beloved people. (source: MAL)

Comment: “Former princess seeking revenge “ -  the best words to describe it but this is not the only idea of it. This manga is more than that, it is ab….. Stop, stop, I don't want to spoil anything so please read the manga to know more about it ( ^_^). It has historical drama elements even thought most of the settings are fictional. Moreover, each episode makes me excited to watch the next one and I think this feeling should be in drama more than an anime. This is all I can say with my simple English. I believe if I knew how to use English better, I would have written an essay - not a simple paragraph  like this one.

Genres: Gender bender, Romance, Comedy, Drama

Look forward to part 2....
